On 2nd April 2026, to mark World Autism Awareness Day, Amity Institute of Clinical Psychology, Amity University Patna organized an impactful awareness program at NIT Ghat, Patna. The primary objective of the program was to promote awareness, understanding, and acceptance of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) among the general public.
The event was conducted in the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Vivekanand Pandey, and the Head of Institution (HOI), Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Santosh, along with all faculty members of AICP. Their presence significantly enhanced the importance of the program and motivated the participants.
The program was coordinated by Ms. Anasua Bandyopadhyay, whose efforts ensured the smooth execution and success of the event.
The event commenced with an awareness briefing by Mr. Rajesh Kumar Pradhan, who provided a comprehensive overview of autism. He highlighted the characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder, early signs and symptoms, the importance of early identification and intervention, and the need to build an inclusive and supportive society. He also briefed the audience about the role and initiatives of AICP and Amity University Patna in promoting mental health awareness and community outreach.
A major highlight of the program was the Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by the students of AICP. The performance effectively portrayed the lived experiences and challenges faced by individuals with autism and emphasized the importance of empathy, acceptance, and social inclusion.
